Progress under supervision...

More progress being made, taken my time as the open frame riser section is playing on my mind. Not that I can't do it but thinking of the best implementation to get accurate heights etc.

Having tested the plan over temporary flat boards it all seemed to fit in the space!

Decided that it was probably best to cut and test fit the turntable as that is a fixed point, then lead off that to the tracks and points and hopefully everything else then connects up correctly...

Cross bracing for the risers added along with holes for wiring.
next stage is to start the right hand side above and develop the station/yard area.

Having cut the turntable hole, refitted the plan over the top, cut the plan to allow the turntable to drop into place... Amazing the track centrelines all line up with the approaches fitted!

Cut one of the flat boards to allow the incline on the front of the layout to be tested, all looks okay.
When tested for 2.1% on the plan I got 2.09% on the inclinometer!

Finally cut and test laid some 9mm and 3mm ply for the 12mm raised station area and part of the yard area.

Have a beer and music festival in Buckinghamshire this weekend so no work on the permanent way for a week at least.

Finally a picture of the supervisor keeping an eye on things, except when sawing or any noise is being made... or sheets of ply being wafted around!

And another of him patient in the Tap room.
